Tanger Outlets host annual Tree Lighting Celebration alongside Santa on Saturday

POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - Tanger Outlets Savannah held its annual Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday night as the holiday season quickly approaches.

Santa and his reindeer were attendance as families waited in line for face painting, cookie decorating and the chance to take a picture with them.

Attendees counted down the seconds before the tree was lit. Members of the Hutchenson family were among those who took part.

“Three, two, one,” the group counted, followed by cheers.

They described the event in comments on camera.

“Amazing,” one said.

“Love it, I wish we had more family events,” another said.

“It’s a lot of fun, I’ve never done this, they talked me into doing it and it’s a lot of fun,” a third said.

Snow started to fall when the tree was lit. The event ended about an hour later.

Santa will be back at the outlets from Nov. 28 until Christmas Eve.

Organizers wrote, “Shoppers can also stretch their dollar and capture Black Friday savings every day in November with Tanger Deal Days leading up to Thanksgiving week’s traditional doorbuster sales. From Nov. 1—22, guests can access early deals online or through the Tanger app, offering up to 25% off top brands like Nike, Under Armour and Old Navy. From the hottest winter styles to beauty must-haves and more, Tanger Savannah has the perfect gift for everyone on the nice list.”
