Savannah Convention Center offers front-row seat to Independence Day fireworks show

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Convention Center is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day with a free community event featuring live entertainment, family-friendly activities and front-row views of Savannah’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display.

The Fourth of July Celebration will take place Saturday, July 4, on the convention center’s riverfront campus on Hutchinson Island. Organizers say the venue offers one of the area’s most unique viewing locations for the Savannah River fireworks show presented by the Waterfront Association.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and will include live music, family activities, food and beverage vendors, a full-service bar and access to the convention center’s Esplanade and Riverwalk.

“The Fourth of July is a time for community, celebration, and creating lasting memories with family and friends,” said Kelvin Moore, General Manager of the Savannah Convention Center. “We’re proud to welcome residents and visitors to our riverfront campus for an evening of live entertainment, great food, and one of the best views of Savannah’s fireworks display.”

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the festivities. Tents will not be permitted.

Admission is free and open to the public. Parking will be available on-site for $25 per vehicle, with advance registration encouraged. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.

Event organizers remind attendees that outside alcohol is prohibited. Coolers are allowed but subject to search upon entry. Glass containers, personal fireworks, smoke bombs, bicycles and skateboards are among the items that will not be permitted.

All purchases for food, beverages and parking will be cashless, with credit and debit cards accepted as the only forms of payment.
