Pooler museum turns money lessons into child’s play

POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - Children can earn their own museum money while learning how to save, spend and work toward financial goals during an upcoming event in Pooler.

The Children’s Museum of Pooler will host Earn and Learn Day on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Presented with VyStar Credit Union as part of its Good is Everywhere Celebration Day, the event will introduce children to financial literacy through hands-on activities.

Children will complete challenges to earn “CMOP Bucks” before deciding whether to spend or save their money at the museum’s redemption station.

“Financial literacy starts with everyday choices,” museum Executive Director Crystal Daniels said. “Through hands-on discovery, children can earn CMOP Bucks, decide whether to spend or save them, and begin to understand how those choices help them reach a goal.”

VyStar sponsored complimentary admission for 100 guests, but all free spaces have been filled. Other families may attend by purchasing regular museum admission.

Admission remains free for current museum members.
