Ottawa Farms looks to plan more events after Rock the Country music festival

BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WTOC) - The owner of the site of last weekend’s Rock the Country music festival in Bloomingdale said cleanup is underway and he plans to host more events in the future despite the muddy mess.
Rock the Country music festival brought in over 20,000 people to Bloomingdale. The owner of Ottawa Farms where the festival took place over the weekend said cleanup is underway.
“How many times are you gonna have Jelly Roll and Kid Rock playing in your backyard?” said James Walzer, a Bloomingdale resident.
The concert featured musicians like Jelly Roll, Kid Rock and Miranda Lambert.
“I was a little worried for a second they had too much of a connection, you know what I mean? I was like, easy here, Jelly Roll,” Walzer said.
The weather played a role in the cleanup efforts.
“Oh my god, I could not believe the mess, but it was so much fun,” Walzer said.
“We’ll be back together in about two weeks, rocking and rolling again over here at the farm,” said Pete Waller, Ottawa Farms owner.
Waller said he knew the rain would cause a mess to the fields, but seeing locals and tourists come together was worth it.
“It’s good for our Chatham County, Savannah, and would you believe we had people here as far as New York?” Waller said.
“I would think economically it probably impacted some of them very good,” said Donna Privette, a Bloomingdale resident.
The Bloomingdale city manager said they did not have any arrests but a full report from the weekend is expected Thursday.
Waller said he would do it again next year and is already looking ahead to more future events.
