Brightside Child & Family Advocacy hosting open house, ribbon cutting for new Savannah location

by Tyler Walls

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Brightside Child & Family Advocacy is opening a brand-new space in Savannah dedicated to supporting foster children and families working toward reunification.

The nonprofit announced it is hosting a community open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new “Bright House” location on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The new facility is located at 1008 Wolf St. in Savannah.

The Bright House is designed to provide a supportive, safe, and warm environment for supervised family visitations. Staff members say this space is crucial in helping children in foster care maintain meaningful, consistent connections with their parents while families work through the reunification process.

Though the new “Bright House” is located in Savannah, Brightside Child & Family Advocacy (which houses the Court Appointed Special Advocates - CASA program) serves children and families throughout all of Chatham County. Officials say this new space will significantly expand their capacity to support families across the entire region.

Members of the community are invited to attend the open house, tour the new facility, and meet the advocacy team to learn more about how the program serves local children.
