Man turns himself in months after fatal crash on Honey Ridge Road

GUYTON, Ga. (WTOC) - A man turned himself in after a fatal crash last October.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office said 55-year-old Quinton White turned himself in to the Effingham County Jail Friday, June 12 in connection with a fatal crash that killed 58-year-old Franklin Ross.

The crash happened on Honey Ridge Road in Guyton just before 8 a.m. on October 20, 2025.

Franklin Ross

Law enforcement said Ross was traveling on a three-wheeled pedal cycle and was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

Ross died in the hospital.

White was booked and charged with Following Too Closely, Improper Passing of a Cyclist, and Homicide by Vehicle.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office said this case will be forwarded to the Solicitor’s Office for review and prosecution.
