Major milestone met for I-16 at Old Cuyler Rd. interchange project
BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Department of Transportation announced crews set beams for the new I-16 at Old Cuyler Road Interchange project as part of a larger initiative to enhance safety and improve congestion.
They reported that substantial completion is anticipated for next year.
TheI-16 at Old Cuyler Interchange projectis part of the larger U.S. 280, I-16 Frontage, and Old Cuyler Rd. Interchange Improvements project that will include a new interchange along I-16 at Old Cuyler Road, including three, multilane roundabouts.
“Studies have shown roundabouts reduce crashes and improve operations by eliminating crossing conflicts,” they wrote on the project’s fact sheet section.

“It should be noted that Georgia Department of Transportation’s (Georgia DOT’s) projects are separate endeavors from the new Hyundai Metaplant site team and are intended to improve surrounding infrastructure for all users, including the local communities it serves,” they wrote on the project’s website.
