Halloween goes to the dogs at Raskel’s Rescue Birthday Bash

HARDEEVILLE, Sc. (WTOC) - Raskel’s Rescue will celebrate three years of helping animals find homes with a Halloween birthday bash and the unveiling of a new memorial garden.

The free community celebration begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11642 Speedway Blvd. in Hardeeville.

The event opens with a ribbon-cutting for the rescue’s Legacy Garden, led by Hardeeville Mayor Harry Williams and rescue founder Carol Butler McCormack.

The garden honors beloved pets, people and memories. Supporters can dedicate an engraved brick, statue or bench, with contributions helping support animals in the rescue’s care as they await loving homes.

Guests are encouraged to dress up for a costume contest judged by Emmy-winning costume designer David Zyla.

The birthday bash will also feature food carts, music, a raffle, a doggy kissing booth and opportunities to meet adoptable animals.

The celebration recognizes the animals, staff, volunteers and supporters who have contributed to the nonprofit’s work since it opened in 2023. Raskel’s Rescue provides animals with shelter, food, medical care and opportunities for adoption.
