Evette, Wilson face off in South Carolina Republican governor runoff

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WTOC) - South Carolina Republicans are choosing Tuesday between Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson in the Republican runoff for governor.
Evette’s watch party is being held at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach.
In the June 9 primary, Evette and Wilson were close, with Evette receiving around 29% of the vote and Wilson receiving around 26%.
Evette was the only candidate in the first round with President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Trump is now endorsing both runoff candidates.
Evette serves alongside Gov. Henry McMaster and is South Carolina’s first female Republican lieutenant governor. She is known as a self-made businesswoman who founded a payroll and human resources company.
Evette has centered her campaign on eliminating the state income tax, lowering property taxes, cutting regulations and other issues.
