Driver of Savannah-Chatham BOEPD vehicle hospitalized after crash at the intersection of Cottonvale and Ogeechee

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Law enforcement responded to the scene of a crash involving a Savannah-Chatham Board of Education Police Department vehicle on Ogeechee Rd. near Cottonvale Thursday afternoon.
Traffic was slow in the area as officials worked to clear the scene. We reached out to the Chatham County Police Department who confirmed at around 3:30 p.m., officers went to the intersection of Cottonvale and Ogeechee for a report of a vehicle collision involving a Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools Board of Education Police vehicle and a Nissan Sentra.
Police said the driver of the Nissan Sentra was found to be at fault in the crash. The Nissan driver did not receive any injuries that required medical attention or transport at the scene.
The driver of the Board of Education Police vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment of what police say appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.
