Driver killed, two juveniles injured in Long County crash, GSP confirms

LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A driver was killed and two juvenile passengers suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Long County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers from Post 11 in Hinesville responded to the crash at approximately 4:26 p.m. on George Swindell Road near Flowers Road.

Investigators said a Saturn Aura was traveling north on George Swindell Road when the driver failed to safely negotiate a curve.

According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions, left the roadway and struck several trees on the east side of George Swindell Road.

The driver died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Two juvenile passengers suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said none of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
