Two displaced, dog rescued from Burton house fire
BURTON, S.C. (WTOC) - The Burton Fire District along with several other assisting agencies responded to a house fire that left two people and a dog displaced Tuesday.
Emergency crews responded to a reported house fire in the Ramblin Rose Mobile Home Park on Roseida Rd just after 3 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the entrance of a mobile home.
Fire crews say they were told a dog may be inside the home.
Firefighters entered the home and immediately located and rescued the dog which was turned over to EMS crews waiting outside.
Officials say firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
No injures were reported.
EMS personnel say they provided the dog with some oxygen utilizing a special oxygen mask for animals.
The dog made a full recovery.
One adult and one child, who were not home at the time, were displaced.
Officials say there were no working smoke alarms in the home.
Fire crews discovered the fire was caused by electrical overloading close to combustibles.
The Burton Fire District says they have responded to seven reported building fires so far this month.
