Strange bright clouds lit up the morning sky, here’s why
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - If you’re a viewer in the WTOC area who gets up early or stays up extremely late, you may have seen some interesting cloud formations earlier this week.

Images of these bright glowing clouds have been sent to us using our Submit Your Photos page, with many people asking what they are.

These strange-looking clouds were actually visible in multiple states and were the result of a rocket launch in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Specifically, it was a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying 28 Starlink internet satellites.

The rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 5:57 a.m. on Thursday, October 16.
According to Space.com, yesterday’s launch was the 130th Falcon 9 flight of 2025.
