Serious crash involving motorcycle blocks I-16 westbound lanes past SR 17
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - All lanes are blocked westbound on I-16 past SR 17 (mile marker 152) due to a serious crash involving a motorcycle in Chatham County, according to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
A Georgia 511 travel alert was also put out alerting drivers to the closure of the westbound lanes.
Traffic is being diverted onto Pooler Parkway.
Emergency responders are on the scene working to reopen the lanes as quickly as possible.
Drivers are strongly encouraged to avoid this area and seek an alternate route to avoid extreme delays.
