SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Saturday, Warren Brinson was busy picking up his first career sack in Green Bay during the Packers’ win over the Vikings. But his foundation was busy helping out the community right here at home.

The Warren Brinson Foundation hosted its annual turkey drive at Temple of Glory Church.

This is the first time the drive has been held in Savannah. The last few years, Warren has been at school at the University of Georgia, so it’s been in Athens.

But being able to hand out over 200 turkeys to those in need right here in his hometown felt even more special.

While the two-time national champion and former Savannah Christian standout couldn’t be at the drive in person Saturday, his mom was, and she was able to speak for the both of them on the importance of giving back.

“My ultimate goal is just to reach anybody and everybody who is in need, just continue to be a blessing. (Warren) just said he wanted to spread his joy, love. He wishes everybody a happy Thanksgiving, and he’ll see you guys soon in December for his annual coat drive,” said Monik Brinson, Warren’s Mom.
