SEC Volleyball tournament begins Friday in Savannah
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Friday was the first day of play for the SEC Volleyball Tournament since 2005.
Sixteen teams and five rounds of play — all taking place at the Enmarket Arena.
“SEC is just different, ya’ know, so there is just even more acceleration,” said Vell and Dorinda Hall, family of a South Carolina player. “It’s super fun, she’s a great talent, this is the big stage, and she’s a star so she’s where stars should be at.”

“It means a lot, I love the SEC, I’m glad they’ve brought this event back and its going to be exciting to be in it year in and year out,” said sara Rumely, USC head coach,.
Fans are traveling all the way from places like Kentucky to enjoy some volleyball and the city of Savannah.
“We’re here for volleyball and then Monday and Tuesday while we wait for the semi and finals were going to head out and venture out and see what we can find out,” said Chae Cornett, volleyball fan.
The tournament continues into the weekend and UGA is set to make their first appearance in the tournament playing Vanderbuilt at 5 p.m.
