Remains located believed to be 79-year-old missing man, says the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - [UPDATE] The search for missing 79-year-old Isaac Bussey Sr. has ended after law enforcement says remains believed to be him were located Saturday evening.

This comes after he was reported missing to the sheriff’s office Friday evening.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said more information will be released by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office.

[ORIGINAL STORY] The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating missing and endangered 79-year-old Isaac Bussey Sr.

Bussey was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office Friday night, November 21, 2025.

His last known location was around Old Rail Bed Road in Lobeco. Bussey left home to go shrimping, but no one has been able to make contact with him since 3 p.m. Friday.

He was last seen wearing dark pants, a light-colored long-sleeved shirt and a dark-colored hat. He also may have a white or blue plastic barrel with him.

Bussey is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 142 pounds.

There is concern for his well-being.
