Powerful storm sweeps through Long County, about 1100 residents without power
LUDOWICI, Ga. (WTOC) - The Long County Fire and Emergency Management Agency reports that a strong storm has moved through the area, leaving damage in several communities.
Damage has been reported in the Mill Pond, Stafford Dairy, and Simmons Crossing areas.
New video from the Coastal News Service shows the extent of storm damage in the Stafford Dairy area, where debris and downed trees are visible.
According to Canoochee EMC’s outage map, about 1,100 residents are currently without power.
Long County Fire and EMA says:
- If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately.
- If you have non-emergency damage, please report it so crews can track and assess impacts.
Officials urge residents to stay safe, avoid hazardous areas, and use caution when traveling through affected neighborhoods.
