New details: Abercorn St. shooting was a drive-by, investigators determine

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 2:27 p.m. 11/4/2025] In a press release, the Savannah Police Department has provided new details about the shooting in the 10,000 block of Abercorn St.

Officials say they “responded to the scene at around 6:15 p.m. based on ShotSpotter reports” where they then “discovered the wounded man.”

The SPD says “The initial investigation determined that he was struck by gunfire that came from an approaching vehicle before fleeing the area.”

The victim was given first aid treatment and then transported to Memorial Hospital.

Officials say no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

[ORIGINAL STORY] The Savannah Police Department has responded to a shooting in the 10,000 block of Abercorn St. that left one male injured Monday night.

SPD says the male has a non-life threatening leg injury.
