Multiple Savannah men among six indicted on federal gun charges
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Six men from Savannah and Augusta are facing federal firearms charges after indictments handed down during the May term of the federal grand jury in the Southern District of Georgia.
According to Margaret E. “Meg” Heap, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, the indictments include charges related to convicted felons allegedly possessing firearms, along with other gun-related offenses.
Those indicted include:
- Jason Booz, 46, of Augusta, charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Twain Frails, 36, of Augusta, charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Naquan Brinson, 23, of Savannah, charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Receipt of a Firearm by a Person Under Indictment
- Thomas Hilliard, 39, of Savannah, charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Nathaniel Williams, 46, of Savannah, charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Orlando M. Williams, 35, of Savannah, charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
“We will prosecute those who illegally possess firearms in the Southern District of Georgia,” Heap said in a statement. “We value and commend our law enforcement partners, and we will continue to prioritize removing these dangerous weapons from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them.”
The cases were investigated by ATF, the FBI, and the Savannah Police Department, and are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Karl I. Knoche, Matthew Breedon, Henry W. Syms Jr., and Bradley R. Thompson.
