LIST: Candidates who have qualified in Georgia’s May primary

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Qualifying ends Friday in Georgia’s nationally watched May 19, 2026 primaries, elections that will choose the Democratic and Republican nominees for the state’s wide open governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state and attorney general contests.

One metro Atlanta congressional seat - the 11th district - will also be open with U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk choosing not to run for reelection.

Republicans will also nominate candidate to challenge Democratic U.S. Senate incumbent Jon Ossoff in November.

Important dates for voters in Georgia’s 2026 elections

Here is a list of the candidates - so far - who have qualified this week for Georgia’s top federal and statewide races and metro Atlanta’s congressional elections. (Updated 3:00 p.m., March 4, 2026)
