Teen killed, another hurt in Bradford Court shooting; neighbors say home has been a problem for years

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - An 18-year-old was shot and killed Saturday night on Bradford Court in unincorporated Chatham County, and neighbors say the home in front of where the shooting occurred has been a source of ongoing problems for two years.
A 17-year-old was also shot and is in serious but stable condition. No arrests have been made.

What police say
Chatham County Police said officers found both victims with gunshot wounds around 9 p.m. Saturday. The 18-year-old died from his injuries. The victim’s identity has not been released. We know both victims are male.
Police confirmed officers have responded to this Bradford Court address, where the shooting happened outside of, 7 times in the past 2 years.
As of Monday, police said they could not release any new details but stressed the investigation remains active.

What neighbors say
Multiple neighbors told our crews that the people renting the home have been a constant nuisance for approximately two years.
They described large police responses to the address involving fire trucks and ambulances on multiple occasions, and said shots had been fired there as well, none as severe as this response.

Neighbors said the 18-year-old did not live at the home but was visiting when the shooting started Saturday night. At least one neighbor is repairing bullet damage to her vehicle.
WTOC knocked on the door of this home and called three phone numbers listed for the property owners but did not receive a response.

Investigation ongoing
We have reached out to the District 3 Chatham County Commissioner, and we’re told he is out of town, and will make a statement once he has the police reports back.
We have also reached out to the victim’s mother and have not yet received a response yet.
