GSBCC holds 7th annual Black Business Excellence Gala
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce held its seventh annual Black Business Excellence Gala at the Armstrong Center, Thursday night.
WTOC anchor Dawn Baker served as host for this sold out event. This year’s theme was Rise and Reign. Organizers say this event is all about the success of minority-owned businesses across Savannah, as well as a celebration of entrepreneurship and economic growth.
“The movement is to make sure we support each other and under the power of African American communities is in the business community,” said GSBCC President Moncello Stewart. “The movement right now is to really support each other, invest in each other and believe in each other.”
The night also included dinner, live entertainment, a red carpet reception, an awards ceremony and a silent auction.
Richard and Kertina Johnson’s Johnson’s Florist won Business of the Year.
The Black Chamber also received a $136,700 from Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Coalition of Black Chambers.
