Former Bacon Co. Sheriff Mark Cothren passes away
BACON COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Former Sheriff Mark Cothren of the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office has passed away, officials said in a social media post on August 27, 2025.
“It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Former Sheriff Mark Cothren,” the post reads.
“Mark served the citizens of Bacon County for many years at the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office. He will be missed by many.”
Further arrangements have not yet been announced, but the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office says it will share those details once they are available.
“Please keep his family in your prayers as they face the challenges of the coming days.”
