Ethics committee finds no violations in Glennville council video controversy

GLENNVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - The Glennville ethics committee says it found no violations in the 39 complaints filed after a controversial video showed city officials making derogatory remarks about a councilwoman and a local business owner.
The decision came three days after residents packed a Glennville city council meeting to address the video.
The video from April 28th, shows Mayor Bernie Weaver, council members Marcus Noble, Tammy Waters and Greg Janeczek talking city business and making derogatory comments about Councilwoman Cynthia Miller and resident Zuber Malek, including calling him a “terrorist.”
Thursday, the ethics committee voted 3-0 each time stating the complaints were not affected by ordinance. This means none of the 39 complaints will be going to a hearing, according to the City of Glennville.
