Class of 2026 graduates in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - It was a sea of blue and yellow as Beach High School’s Class of 2026 crossed the stage with diploma’s in hand.

Nearly 200 seniors graduated at Enmarket Arena Wednesday evening, with families filling the stands, waving, shouting and celebrating each name called. Beach High said the class included eight honor graduates and more than a dozen college merit recipients.

For many students, the ceremony marked both an ending and a beginning — the close of four years of high school and the start of what comes next.

“We graduated from the best school in Savannah, with the best principal, and best teachers — everything. The best class,” graduate Danica Edwards said.

Beach High Principal Emanuel McCall said the class has earned about three-quarters of a million dollars in scholarships, a milestone he credited to years of work in and outside the classroom.

“Seeing them from when they walk in the hallways as freshman year to senior year, to conversations with parents, and extracurricular events — it’s a moment of togetherness,” McCall said. “It’s an unbelievable moment of pride.”

Beach High, Johnson and Woodville-Tompkins held graduation ceremonies Wednesday.

Savannah-Chatham E-Learning Academy, Savannah Early College High and the School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High School will hold graduations Thursday.
