Bluffton Police investigating shooting that left 18-year-old seriously injured; suspect in custody
BLUFFTON, S.C. (WTOC) - Last week officers with Bluffton Police Department responded to a health and welfare check at a home on May River Road.
During the welfare check officers located a man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
According to officers, they immediately rendered aid and Bluffton Police Department, Bluffton Township Fire District and Beaufort County EMS were called to the scene.
The victim, an 18-year-old from Hilton Head, was airlifted to a local hospital, where they remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
Malik Geoffrey Winston, 19, of Bluffton, has been arrested and charged with:
- Attempted Murder
- Armed Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime
This case remains under investigation.
