Beaufort County School District to start accepting Choice applications for the 2026-27 school year
BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County School District said they will soon be accepting Choice applications for the 2026-27 school year, the 12th year of the district’s expanded choice initiative.
This program allows students living in Beaufort County to apply to participate in a Choice program at a school that’s outside their designated attendance zone.
“We want parents to know that Beaufort County School District is the best choice for their children,” said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez. “Our offerings are extensive, innovative, and engaging. There’s something to match every student’s interests and future career plans.”
Applications are set open on the district’s website on Monday, November 10, 2025, and must be submitted online by Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 5 p.m.
The school district said parents who don’t have internet access may request application assistance at any district school.
If the number of choice applications at a school causes the school to go over its enrollment capacity, or if approved applications push an individual choice program beyond its capacity, there will be a lottery held.
The school district notes students who attend choice programs do not pay extra tuition, but say families are responsible for their students’ transportation outside of school attendance zones.
