4 killed in Colleton County head-on collision
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol said four people died in a reportedly head-on collision that left three people dead Monday evening.
The collision occurred on SC-303 near Simons Acres Lane at 6:38 p.m., approximately four miles south of Walterboro.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeaay said a 2020 Volkswagen SUV was traveling south on SC-303 while a 2004 minivan was traveling north when they collided head-on with each other.
The driver of the Volkswagen died at a hospital, while the driver of the minivan and two occupants from the vehicle died at the scene, according to Ridgeway.
The Colleton County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the names of the victims.
