Woman in critical condition after Garden City gas station shooting, arrest made

GARDEN CITY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 6/11/2026 2:55 p.m.] Garden City detectives arrested 29-year-old Ryan Boyd of Rincon in connection to a Thursday morning shooting.
Boyd was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and other related charges. He was taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.
Police also gave an update to the location of the shooting, they determined the shooting occurred on Old Louisville Road near Dean Forest Road.
The woman is still in critical condition.
[UPDATE 6/11/2026 10:09 a.m.] A woman is in the hospital after a shooting in Garden City Thursday morning.
The Garden City Police Department said they are investigating a shooting. Officers were dispatched to the Love’s Travel Stop at 2 Sonny Perdue Drive at around 6:51 a.m. Officers said once there, they found a woman inside a vehicle suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.
A person of interest is in police custody at this time.

Garden City police are on scene. Authorities said they had no information Wednesday morning when WTOC called.
