Students react to guest lineup
Xander Schmidt, a SCAD student, said the lineup got him excited and nervous.
“Seeing the lineup of who we had, Bill Skarsgård, Julianne Moore, Seth Rogen, got me very excited and of course I’m nervous to be able to have the opportunity to interact with all these amazing, incredible people in my field and industry,” Schmidt said.
Costume designer discusses her work
Grace Snell, costume designer for “Sense and Sensibility,” also took part in the festival.
“I just love getting into characters and learning about the human story, and trying to find a way to connect the audience to the emotion of the story. And how can we do this through clothing?” Snell said.
Sound editor discusses “The Mosquito Bowl”
Peter Berg’s “The Mosquito Bowl” opens Friday. The film uses sound to put viewers inside the World War II Battle of Okinawa.
Anne Jimkes, supervising sound editor on the film, said emotion comes first.
“Sometimes it’s not in the words, it’s just in the tones, in the textures that emotionalize. It’s all just in the emotion, in the efforts that our actors put up on screen,” Jimkes said.
Festival continues through Saturday
The festival provides access to guests for SCAD students. Schmidt said that access changes how he sees the guests.
“It puts in perspective that I’m just like them and they’re just like me,” Schmidt said.
The festival runs through Saturday, October 31st.
