Splash Pad in Port Royal temporarily closed due water line leak

PORT ROYAL, S.C. (WTOC) - A popular way to keep cool in Port Royal is temporarily closed.

The Town of Port Royal Fire Department annoncued Sunday morning that the Splash Pad at Bruce Edgerly Park is temporarily closed after a water line leak was discovered.

Officials say water was coming up from beneath the concrete. The water supply has been shut off, and crews are assessing the damage and beginning repairs.

Officials urge, for public safety, not to enter the splash pad area until repairs have been completed, and the facility has been reopened.
