SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Two third-year pharmacy students from South University’s Savannah campus have brought home a statewide title.

Savannah pharmacy students top Georgia schools in a clinical competition

School officials say Carolynn Cohen and Ashlynn Bryant won the Clinical Skills Competition at the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Fall Meeting the weekend of Oct. 16, topping teams from Georgia’s three other pharmacy schools.

After winning their campus round, Cohen and Bryant advanced to the state competition, where they worked through a real-world patient case and answered rapid-fire questions from a panel of judges in front of a live audience, according to officials.

The win comes during American Pharmacists Month. This year’s theme, “Caring for Our Communities,” underscores what officials say these students are being trained to do, deliver safe, high-quality care at the pharmacy counter.
