Savannah Elks Lodge supports unhoused veterans with clothing donation

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Elks Lodge Savannah Chapter donated $1,000 in clothing to the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless on Wednesday to support the organization’s tiny homes project.
The project provides tiny homes for unhoused veterans in the Savannah area. The community currently has 46 tiny homes, and the donated clothing will go directly to residents.
McKaylin Zukowski, director of resource development for the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless, said the donation reflects ongoing community support.
“Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless is a collaborative applicant for the Georgia 507 continuum of care, but we also have our tiny homes,” Zukowski said. “It’s extremely meaningful to have supporters who donate year after year ensuring that our veterans living in the tiny homes have the things they need to continue to live stably in their homes.”
The Elks Lodge is a fraternity dedicated to serving veterans and children in the community.
