Norman campaigns on Hilton Head Island ahead of SC Republican Senate primary

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, Sc. (WTOC) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ralph Norman visited Hilton Head Island on Saturday to meet with voters ahead of the special Republican primary, now three days away. More than 40,000 ballots have been cast statewide through two days of early voting.

Norman, a congressman from Rock Hill who has served in Congress since 2017, spoke with voters and took questions during the stop.

Norman said he made the trip to Hilton Head to engage directly with constituents.

“The people of Hilton Head, they’re patriotic, they’re conservative, and get in front of them, in front of as many as I can, and let them ask questions,” Norman said. “I love this dialogue when we can meet like this, and what better time than three days before the election.”

Norman said his platform centers on conservative values and his existing legislative record.

“It can be summed up to faith, family, and freedom,” Norman said. “I’ve got the most conservative voting record. You know what you get with me. You know, you’re electing somebody for six years, and you got to know what they’ll do. There’s no on-the-job training with this.”

Norman also addressed the U.S. Senate’s legislative process.

“The Senate particularly is where good bills go to die, and I’m ready to change that,” he said.

Norman called on voters to turn out, citing the national debt, voting integrity legislation, and what he described as a critical moment for the country.

“The country is at a tipping point,” Norman said. “We’ve got to have people that are willing to roll their sleeves up, get the debt crisis that we’re in, pass the voting integrity, the Save America Act, and I just urge everybody to go to the polls.”
