LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A registered sex offender in Long County has been arrested following an investigation into child molestation allegations.

The Long County Sheriff’s Office said they received a complaint regarding the allegations on Monday, July 27, 2026.

A woman and her kids showed up to the police department to file a report after her daughter said Sunday night their family friend inappropriately touched her, and forced her into sexual acts.

The agency’s Criminal Investigations Division immediately launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of 40-year-old Daylan S. Nekula.
