COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Republican candidates vying to become South Carolina’s next governor will gather for one final debate before the June 9 primary election.
The debate is being held on Tuesday on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, with coverage starting at 7 p.m. It will air on WIS, the WIS streaming apps and the video player above this story.
The following candidates, listed in alphabetical order, are confirmed to participate in Tuesday’s debate:
- U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace
- U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman
- Rom Reddy
- South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson
Officials with the South Carolina Republican Party said an invitation was extended to South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Evette declined, instead scheduling a campaign event in North Myrtle Beach on Tuesday.
Party leaders also said candidates were required to meet a 5% minimum polling average to receive an invitation to Tuesday’s debate.
Should the June 9 primary result in a runoff, a final debate has been scheduled for June 16 in Conway on the campus of Coastal Carolina University.
