Flau’jae returns to Savannah for third annual Back to School Giveback Weekend

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Savannah native, LSU basketball champion, rapper, and community advocate Flau’jae Johnson is returning home this week for her annual Back to School Giveback Weekend.

This event is in partnership with Powerade, Puma, The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, and St. Joseph’s/Candler.

It’s set to take place Friday, July 25- Saturday, July 26, at Enmarket Arena.

The weekend of impact features mobile mammography unit for mammograms, available to those under or uninsured who qualify, a community festival, and critical back-to-school resources for Savannah’s youth.

Friday’s event is a mammogram screening happening from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Enmarket Arena parking lot.

Women across the area will have access to mammograms at no-cost through the St. Joseph’s/Candler Mobile Mammography Unit, with support from the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The service aims to eliminate health barriers by providing early detection tools directly to underserved communities.

Saturday’s event is Flau’Jae’s Back to School Giveback Festival. Free and open to the public, this event is the athlete’s way of investing in the next generation of Savannah leaders.

The celebration will include:

● Music, a live DJ, and performance

● Free food, bounce houses & face painting

● Free backpacks, uniforms & shoes for students

● Check presentation from Flau’jae & Kay Yow Cancer Fund to St.Joseph’s/Candler
