Evans Co. school board member becomes unresponsive during board meeting
CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) - During a scheduled Evans County Schools board meeting on September 4, 2025, a board member became unresponsive and was later hospitalized, according to a press release from the Evans County School System.
When the board member became unresponsive emergency medical personnel were immediately called to the scene and responded promptly, the release states.
The board member was transported to Evans Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and care.
At this time, no additional information is available, and the school system is asking for privacy and respect as further updates are awaited.
