Dead oak from McCauley Park made into park bench
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah is bringing new life to a tree that suffered damages from a storm.
The McCauley Park live oak was affectionately known to many neighbors as “Spider Web.” It was removed for safety reasons after suffering storm damage.
The City, along with several community partners, worked to bring this wood “home,” now repurposed as benches so residents can continue to gather where the tree once stood.
The benches are located in the southwest corner of the park.
