Dave Turley’s First Alert Weather forecast for Tuesday, October 6, 2026

A stationary front will linger to our south this week. Low pressure has developed along the front off the Florida coast. This will increase many coastal concerns with higher surf and seas, rip current risk, and beach erosion. There is a slight chance for showers mainly south of the Altamaha River. Coastal flooding possible Wednesday afternoon/evening . We keep it mostly cloudy but drier Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances begin to increase again late Friday into the weekend. Tropical Gulf moisture will move over the area this weekend as we watch tropical development in the Gulf. Right now it looks like the tropical system will move into central Gulf coast near Louisiana Friday night or Saturday. This would bring us a good chance for rain Saturday into Sunday. Our forecast will depend on exactly how this plays out so stay tuned for updates.
