Crews to continue fighting Bulloch Co. wildfire Monday morning
BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Bulloch County Fire officials said response teams will be out battling the wildfire on Monday morning starting at 7 a.m.
Bulloch County public safety and EMA said crews made progress on Sunday, extinguishing many of the remaining hotspots and cutting additional fire breaks to strengthen containment efforts.
Sheriff’s deputies will be stationed at area intersections still to keep people away.
The EMA thanked the Georgia Forestry Commission for their help on the ground and in the air on Sunday. They also recognized the fire department for shuttling 24 tanker truck loads of water to the scene and spraying along fire lines to help prevent the fire from spreading.
Bulloch County Fire thanked people who have donated water and food to crews but they are changing that operation to make sure everyone is safe.
