Cooling facilities open across Savannah during heat advisory

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Cooling facilities will be available across Savannah as the city prepares for high temperatures.
Heat advisory in effect Tuesday
The heat advisory will be in effect July 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with expected heat index values up to 108 degrees.
The City of Savannah opened a second cooling center Wednesday due to an extreme heat watch in effect through Wednesday evening.
What’s Happening:
- Extreme heat watch in effect Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening, July 8, 2026
- Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values 112 to 116 possible
- Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast Carolina
- Elevated temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses

- Crusader Community Center – 81 Coffee Bluff Villa Rd.
