Citywide water outage affects Walthourville after water line damaged during construction

WALTHOURVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Residents throughout the City of Walthourville are without water after a water line was severed during bypass construction work, according to city officials.
The city said the damaged water line requires a temporary shutdown of water service across the entire city so crews can safely complete repairs.
Officials said there is currently no estimated time for when water service will be restored.
The city’s Water Department is working to repair the damaged line and restore service as quickly and safely as possible, according to a statement from the city.
City officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience while crews work to resolve the issue.
The City of Walthourville said it will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
