City dedicates art studio to former city council member Bill Durrence
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The city of Savannah is honoring a former city council member in a unique way.
This afternoon the community gathered at the Otis Johnson Cultural Arts Center for a dedication ceremony renaming the visual arts studio one.
It is now named the Bill Durrence Visual Arts Studio.
The center honors the councilmen’s legacy as well as his 60 years of work as a photographer.
The newly dedicated room will continue to serve as a classroom.
But it will also house artwork from Durrrence.
He also donated his entire collection of photography work to the city of Savannah.
