Truck strikes building, multiple people injured in Beaufort Co.
BURTON, S.C. (WTOC) - A vehicle crashes into a building in Beaufort County, trapping one driver and injuring two other people. The Burton Fire District says crews responded to the crash just after 5:00 Friday evening on Savannah Highway in Burton.
According to the Burton Fire District, a pickup truck collided with a car and then hit a building. Firefighters had to rescue the driver trapped inside the car. Beaufort County EMS worked to stabilize the driver, and the driver was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to the hospital.
A worker inside the building had minor injuries, but they were not transported to the hospital. Burton Fire says the worker was only feet from where the pickup truck struck the building.
Traffic on Savannah Highway was delayed for over an hour while emergency crews helped the injured and cleared hazards from the road.
The Burton Fire District has responded to 122 vehicle collisions in 2025, and 61% resulted in injuries.
