Teenager makes 3rd person arrested in Feb 2024 murder that killed 20-year-old

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Savannah teen was arrested this week for a murder that happened 17 months ago.

Court documents say a 20-year-old man was killed during an attempted armed robbery in February of last year.

Now, 3 people in total have been charged in relation to his murder.

19-year-old Zaire Jamarion Garner was arrested Monday, July 21st, for his role in this shooting.

It happened near 227 Montgomery Crossroads, at the Woodlands apartments, according to SPD on February 13th of 2024, just before 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

Two people were shot, one of them, 20-year-old Anthony McBride, died from his injuries.

An indictment alleges the victim was shot to death during an armed robbery.

Now a year and 5 months later, Garner is facing murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery charges. He is being held on no bond.

He has no other criminal record in Chatham County. Garner’s jail records reveal he lives and works in Atlanta.

Two other people are already charged with murder in this case as well, 20-year-old Rashod Hamilton and 23-year-old Jaleeyah Bryant.

Bryant was arrested on February 22nd, 2024. While Hamilton was arrested the same day of the shooting, February 13th, 2024, at 5 pm.

We are still waiting on a mugshot for these two suspects.

Both were indicted last May by a grand jury on felony murder, criminal attempt to commit a felony, 2x aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Both Hamilton and Bryant are scheduled for a Pre-trial Hearing/arraignment on August 18th in front of Judge Colbert at 10:30 a.m.
