Swainsboro woman slain; 40-year-old man arrested

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Authorities are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman who was found dead inside a home.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken the case at the request of the Swainsboro Police Department.

Amber Nichole Fields, of Swainsboro, was found dead inside her home in the 600 block of North Coleman Street Extension, according to the GBI.

A family member found her inside the house after she didn’t report for work.

On Monday, Charles Justin Davis, 40, of Swainsboro, was arrested and charged with one felony count of malice murder for the death of Fields, according to investigators.
