SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Pooler Fire Department and police department responded to a large trailer fire on Dean Forest Road Saturday night.
Pooler Fire Chief Wade Simmons told WTOC it is a single-family trailer fire that began in the kitchenette area and spread into the walls and roof. No reported injuries.
WTOC saw crews responding in the 1700 block of Dean Forest Road. Crews were dispatched to the scene around 8:30 p.m.
Simmons shared the large response is due to a lack of hydrants in the area.
Drivers were being diverted away from the scene.
A resident told WTOC they saw as many as 16 fire trucks responding on Saturday just before 9 p.m.
This is a developing story. Stay with WTOC for updates as they become available.
