Suspect identified in deadly Piggly Wiggly shooting in Albany

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Albany police have identified the suspect involved in the deadly shooting behind the Piggly Wiggly.

On November 24, between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of West Gordon Avenue, near the 700 block of South Slappey Boulevard. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive man behind the store.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Quintravion Carter, had multiple gunshot wounds.

According to APD, the suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Justin Gibson. His name was released during Albany Police’s Media Monday briefing.

WALB is working to obtain the suspect’s photo for public release. Anyone with information on Gibson’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Albany Police Department.
